The one that made me a Mommy...and now he's 4!! I know it's so cliche but how did that happen?! But can I just say, I think 4 is going to be a great year!! Because 2 and 3 were hard - we were still getting to know Bryce and how to help him with his big emotions. But 4...I think 4 is going to be fun!
Each day I learn more about how to be the mother Bryce needs and not the mother I thought I would be. Mothering is so humbling and so hard.
But this kid right here - he's worth it. He is funny, loving, smart and so athletic. He really does want to make everyone happy but at the same time he isn't going to just go along with things if he doesn't want to do something. He's his own person and I love it. I hope he is able to keep that strength through the years and be a leader.
A few weeks before his birthday he let me take some photos of him to document this part of his childhood. His smile is infectious and his curiosity is blossoming more each day.
And man, is he funny! The faces he makes cracks me up almost as much as listening to the funny things he comes up with. But more than that, I love watching his learn so much and ask great questions about the world around him. He has a passion for learning and catches on to things so quickly. Books have always been one of Bryce's favorite things and you can almost always find him asleep in his bed with a pile of book in the corner and his flashlight on top. :)
And don't get me started on sports! The natural talent of this kid amazes me and I am so curious to see what sport he gravitates towards through the years and it the passion remains as he learns the ins and outs of the game.
Bryce, thank you for choosing me to be your mother and I am so excited for the next year! Happy birthday baby boy!
And here's some fun black and white photos taken at Heritage Park after our session together. When did he get so big?!
