This Spring has been the season for extended family sessions! I love how each family dynamic is so different, yet the same at the core. It's fun to see families come together to document this season in their life - even if everyone isn't super excited about having their photo taken. But I know after the session and years later these photos will be treasured as a time capsule.
I met Rachel last fall at the Overland Park fall mini sessions. When she contacted me to purchase a gift certificate for her mother for Christmas I was thrilled to be able work with her again. Our June session was unseasonable cool and we were so thankful for the amazing evening at Ironwoods Park in Leawood, KS.
The kids did great and we captured some fun photos of them checking out the frogs in the lake and climbing on the structure - though we never really figured out what it was supposed to be. :)
Grandma wanted to be sure to get some candid moments as well as posed portraits so that's what we did and I think by the end everyone was having a good time!
You can check out more of our extended family sessions in and around the Kansas City area.
