Shooting in Parkville, MO at English Landing Park was kind of like coming home for me. I went to college at Park University {over a decade ago - how is that possible!} where the beautiful campus overlooks the Missouri River and this great park. I didn't visit it nearly enough in my four years so it was great to come back as a family photographer and experience it in a whole new light.
It seems like most of my previous sessions were of families with young kids so having a pre-teen boy was a great change of pace. Combined with a new location outside of Johnson County and a great family, the session was so easy and fun. It was a super hot Sunday evening but they did amazing and you can't tell by looking at the pictures that it was a record setting {Spring} day in Kansas City.
The willow trees we found were an amazing backdrop as well as the stairs and bridge. Their gallery is filled with beautiful, sun filled images and I am honored to be trusted as their family photographer and hope they treasure these photos for years to come.

It had been over 7 years since their last official family photos and I sure hope they come back to see me a lot sooner than that! :) We got so many fun shots of Mom, Dad and their "Dude" - their love for each other is so apparent and I'm sure they have so much fun each and every day.
And I love it when Mom and Dad get photos of just the two of them together. These two just celebrated 15 years of marriage and look amazing and so in love.
