Why are portrait sessions only available at sunrise & sunset?
When booking outdoor photos, we will schedule the session for right after sunrise or an hour before sunset. Why? Photos taken during at other times of day will result in harsh shadows falling on people's faces, lots of squinting and overall not pleasing results. Investing in professional photos is a big deal and I want to provide you with the best possible results. Therefore sessions are timed around the sun's schedule. I know that during certain times of year that may mean waking up earlier than normal for a morning shoot or keeping the kids up later for an evening shoot. I get it - I am a mom and know that schedules are important, especially with little ones. But I insist on sticking with this schedule to provide you with the beautiful photos your family deserves. There is a wide range of times throughout the year so be sure to check out the sun schedule here when booking so you know the time frame you will be looking at for your session.

If you need more flexibility in session times, consider an at-home lifestyle session instead. I will come to your home and document your family in your "natural habitat" on your schedule.
